The Fevad's recent e-commerce audience barometer highlights the top 20 most visited online shopping sites in France, with Vinted climbing to the top three, showcasing the growing consumer interest in second-hand goods. Mobile remains the preferred platform, with significant traffic increases observed.
The French e-commerce landscape is continuously evolving, with significant shifts in consumer preferences and the rise of mobile commerce. The Federation of E-commerce and Distance Selling (Fevad) recently released its e-commerce audience barometer for France, in partnership with Mediamétrie//NetRatings, highlighting the most frequented online shopping sites in the country across all devices.
A remarkable takeaway from the report is the ascent of Vinted to the top three, overtaking Cdiscount and positioning itself just behind Amazon and Leboncoin. This shift underscores the growing consumer interest in the second-hand market, with Vinted attracting 17.1 million unique visitors. The report indicates that 48.5 million internet users, or 76% of the French population, visit at least one of the top 20 platforms or apps monthly, marking an increase from the previous quarter.
The report further emphasizes the dominance of mobile as the preferred platform for e-commerce, with 95% of the sites having more than 70% of their visitors accessing through mobile devices—a significant increase from less than 50% a year ago. Vinted and Shein lead the pack in mobile traffic, with 88% and 86% of their audience respectively coming from mobile devices.
